Dynamic Drum Solo Workshop
& special guest performance in
Gems of the Oasis 3rd Annual Student Show
Saturday, November 17, 2007
10 to 12 pm: Warm-up & Dynamic Drum Solo Technique & Drills
12 to 1 pm: Lunch and shopping
1 to 3 pm: Dynamic Drum Solo Choreography (Gina teaches a fun, high-energy modern Egyptian-style short drum solo which can be included in your Oriental routine)
7 pm: Gems of the Oasis 3rd Annual Student Show, featuring Merrybellies student troupes, student and professional duets & solo-ists, and special guest star Gina!
Doors open at 6:30 pm Barking Legs Theater, Chattanooga.
About Our Guest Star, GINA:
Originally from North Carolina , Gina received her B.F.A. in Dance & Theatre Arts from East Carolina University .
A former dancer in the Siegfried & Roy Show, Gina retired from Las Vegas production shows and began her love affair with Oriental dance.
Gina has since studied with notable American, Arabic, and European Oriental dancers. She is inspired by these artists as well as by her own ballet and jazz dance background.
Gina can be seen in the IAMED "Belly Dance O Rama" dvds #1 and #2 and is currently teaching and performing in Atlanta and the Southeast.

New Workshop: Tribal Fusion Arms & Hands with Liora
In addition to the workshop with Gina on Saturday, we have added a workshop with Liora for Sunday!
Very exciting.... let me know if you have any questions, interest in joining the workshop, or whatnot. Jillanna Tribal Fusion Hands & Arms with Liora www.liorabellydance.com Sunday 12 to 2pm ($30); at Old Green Eyes, 7638 Nashville Street, Ringgold, GA In this workshop, we will work on tribal fusion hand and arm work - snake arms, hand ripples, 'sticky' fingers, etc. Although the focus will be on the upper body, we will incorporate the different moves into combinations for practice and performance. |
