Finally, we meet, the universe aligned, and the playa dust provided the setting, I wasn't nervous, but I was surely excited to finally be making that connection.

My Friend Bubbles kept track of time, as I never wear a watch, and we had set the time to meet for 7pm at Center Camp Arctica...

it was Friday, and perfect conditions to make our trek to the Temple, riding bikes was a challenge but Bubbles and I knew that if we walked all the way out there we would be late making the connection at center camp..

surprisingly, we made it to center camp at exactly the correct time, Don't ya just love Playadipity..

and There she was, a real live person, someone I had been chatting with for 2 years while she was deployed..

it was WONDERFUL to Hug her after all that time..

she is exactly as I thought she would be, Fun, Open, easy to talk to and with, what a great time we had for the few hours we spent hanging out...

even though she was quite busy taking care of people in need as was her job on the playa... and she's quite good at it too... she went out of her way, literally, across the playa several times to make this meeting happen.. not many people do that for someone they have never met.... I was impressed....

I am honored to have finally met Renee, and I Hope the universe sees fit to have our paths cross again sometime...

Thank you my friend for being a great and wonderful part of MY Playa experience this year.... and FYI, Bubbles thinks you're pretty damn cool too....

I thought of her today, while listening to the sounds of spring and enjoying the breeze thru the window...

I've yet to meet her in person, but I trust when the time is right, our paths will cross.

until then, the occassional email or phonecall will suffice....

but, I already know she's an amazing woman, and it's my honor and pleasure to call her Friend.....

Why are we sending 40-something grandmothers with back injuries to Iraq? I think about Renee often - and I can't wait until she is home safe from her 2nd tour in Iraq. I'm going to show her the state of California!
