Our lovely cat passed away last monday. She had been ill- fluid was filling her lungs. We spent almost my months salary having the fluid withdrawn twice and some hospitalization. She Survived both those traumas and coped well with taking 4 pills twice daily but she continued to loose weight. Things were not going well so my husband and I prepared ourselves for the worst, gave her the best vet. care we could but we knew it was only a matter of time. Monday night when I got home from work at 11:30 her breathing was difficult (from the fluid that kept coming back no matter what). I drove her down to the Emergency vets wrapped in a towel on my lap. Our intention was to euthenise her - something I never thought I'd be capable of doing but she was suffering terribly. As the nurse was slowly checking the spelling of our street adress Kyrie started to die. She was with us the whole time petting her. She passed away in the waiting room. Today we picked up her ashes. I always knew it would be so hard. She Showed up in our apartment only a few months after my husband and I met. She had been abandoned by her preivious owners. Pet abandonment was a common thing in the college town of Flagstaff Arizona. She's been with us ever since for a total of 13 years and when she came to us she came pregnant. We still have one of her daughters. She is missed:(
