about me
I'm a 27 year old female, standing 6'1" instead of 5'2"... (liz says to say it's really 5'6", but who's counting?) who just landed the most awesome job ever for an online poker company...
Who knows nothing about poker. (eek!) So here I am, trying to sniff out everyone who plays and everything about the game-- trying to make a good impression on the boss has never been so daunting. I'm going to be a regular haunter of sites & blogs & forums and whatever... anything that has to do with poker I wanna know about it. This is going to be the most fun job ever, and I can't wait to get started! And here's the generic stuff about not stalking poker sites and peoples... I graduated from UC Berkeley so I'm forever going to be a stinky hippie in a lot of people's eyes, and I'll be a sore in the side of my guidance counselor's conscience... "Oh sure honey, there's a LOT you can do with a degree in English!" ::grin:: But I'm not bitter; I got to spend years just READING!! and wasting financial aid on building a computer and taking side trips to Vegas for the long weekends. So I miss it, though I am loathe to debate deconstructionism these days, and would rather catch a new book by Neil Gaiman (or an old one by Octavia Butler) instead. I fell into an accidental love of sci fi literature, and *especially* like those that prominently display multi-racial characters (I like to see myself represented in popular culture, and sci fi has a knack of doing it and doing it well). And who couldn't love ender? I also have a soft spot for Japanese writers, and postmodern Americans as well. Thomas Pynchon ran off with my heart to Vineland... I'm sure it's *oscillating* under a stony bridge waiting for me to find it. I've also been known to clear the *adult* section of any male broswers at my fav local comic shop (Comic Relief), as I look for any issues of Bondage Fairies that may be missing from my collection. Except Vol. 13, that one's just wrong.
