about me
I have always been self-confident, at least on the surface. I can do it, and I do. This is how I live.
I love my house!
(blog entry)
OK, I just had a *fabulous* weekend!
I drove up to Seattle Friday, and found out I couldn't get into my house. Ack! The keys didn't work. (Found out later they hadn't been cut correctly.) So I just mowed the lawn instead -- yay! It looks...

Call me crazy
(blog entry)
So in the midst of the craziness that was 2007, I decided (at the very end of the year) to start my own business. Of course, I don't expect it to be extremely lucrative - just a little something on the side, for when I feel like it, and need a cr...

Mind-bending horror
(blog entry)
OK, not so much, really. But it's just too funny to write phrases like that, especially about Cthulhu things. My husband came across this photo, and sent it to me, and I thought it was just too funny not to share. I realize not everyone will ge...

Ready for 2008
(blog entry)
Is it just me, or has 2007 really been just a crazy year? And this has not always been in good ways.
The more the year drags on, the more tragedies I hear about -- personal ones, not just the ones outside my monkey-sphere that are (unfortunate...

Cuteness
(blog entry)
I figured it was time I wrote about something cheerful here, so I have some good stuff to share. :)
It's Tristan, of course. What else would be so cute? Despite (or because of) being two-and-a-half, he's really been racking up the "awww, cut...

I drove up to Seattle Friday, and found out I couldn't get into my house. Ack! The keys didn't work. (Found out later they hadn't been cut correctly.) So I just mowed the lawn instead -- yay! It looks so nice! But Saturday I helped Peter stuff his belongings into two cars and a truck, and then *he* got the house open. Even his keys didn't work very well, so we replaced the lock yesterday.
I'm so pleased! The house is great. Sure, it's not ...

So in the midst of the craziness that was 2007, I decided (at the very end of the year) to start my own business. Of course, I don't expect it to be extremely lucrative - just a little something on the side, for when I feel like it, and need a creative outlet. And my family encouraged me, so maybe I'm not as crazy as it might seem. Anyway, I decided to actually try to sell some of the jewelry that I've been making for I don't know how long. I haven't put any of the tribal stuff up on my w...

My husband came across this photo, and sent it to me, and I thought it was just too funny not to share. I realize not everyone will get the reference here, but if not, then read "The Call of Cthulhu" by H. P. Lovecraft. It's worth a read, although I admit that I giggled through most of it. (I wasn't supposed to.) (But I told my husband when he looked at me funny that if I didn't...

I'm ready to toast in 2008 with some good news! I'll let you know if I get some that's exciting. So far all I expect is standard stuff, like (1) it's not 2007 any more, (2) maybe some fun times skiing, or (3) I'll find some ...

"Pooh-pillick"
This is a favorite topic for Tristan lately. He gets really excited about Pooh-pillick. What does this mean? Winnie-the-Pooh, or more properly, Pooh and Piglet. But he does say Pooh-pillick when he just m...

Arwyn is awesome. She is so incredibly talented; intelligent and wise, creative and artistic, yet grounded and realistic. She's a hard worker who is not afraid to go the distance to get what she believes. She knows what hard work is, and she knows what rewards wait for those who commit. Her artistic sensibilities stretch from the visual arts into movement and dance... she took to bellydance as a goddess to her throne! She was beautiful and creative before bellydance, and now it's amazing how she has become so powerful, yet still humble and unassuming.
Watching her dance, she is so confident in her body, in her movements. Her poised grace is never rushed, and takes its own time which is perfectly in synch with the world around her. In fact, the world stands still to wait for her to take her place.
As a friend, she is forever loyal, trustworthy, and takes her friendships seriously. A great friend to have, she is always there for you, regardless of what needs to be done. And fully supportive of whatever you decide to do! You know she will have your back no matter what. She'll the last one to get all prima-donna and upset about nothing - she will let you know if she has a problem with you, and will be wiling to sit down, discuss it calmly, until the problem is resolved. Calm and reserved, she reserves her opinion until she is sure of herself, then is not afraid to step up and let you know what she thinks!
I am so grateful that I can call her my friend... though distance has separated us for longer than we've lived in the same city, we've been friends since the 5th grade and I have no doubt our friendship will continue for life! Thanks for always being there, so supportive of everything and by my side through it all!

Arwyn, dance goddess, so regal on the stage...and off stage she's smart, funny, honest, and a good mommy too. What more could we ask for? Oh I know: she also has great taste in chocolates, home-brewed beer, $9 grape juice, and all the finer things in life. Glad I know her. Slad she's my friend.
