He may be internationally-infamous for starting a very public feud with UK rap-midget Lady Sovereign ... but he's also our favorite giant rapping pastry snack! He'll be rapping freestyle with the band, as well as "busting a move" on a custom mashup number created just for tonight!

Live on stage at midnight: THE A+D SHOW

This Saturday, DJs Adrian and the Mysterious D – known for their mashups under the moniker A Plus D – will present "The A+D Show," a multimedia mashup showcase. This was debuted at the Bootie SF 4-Year Anniversary in August, and we're proud to now be bringing it to you, LA!

This will be no usual DJ set ... the duo will showcase their own mashups in a stage show which will combine mashup videos, mashup movie shorts, go-go dancers, and a couple live performances during their set which will include: live singing, drag performance, an audience sing-along, and even a live Guitar Hero mashup. There will be something different for every song in their one-hour on-stage DJ set.

The show will also feature LA performers Foxy Cotton and Heathervescent, as well as having its own theme dancers, Travis D and The Indra. This may very well be the biggest show we've ever had a Bootie LA!

It's a New Year, and it's all about change – so we're heading back to our original venue, The Echo, which has been upgraded since the last time we did event there... new lighting, new renovations but with that same excellent sound system!

Live on stage: PARTY BEN ALIVE !

Bootie's resident DJ PARTY BEN has been hard at work this past month, retiring his "Party Ben Kenobi" persona and cooking up a brand new feature DJ set, "inspired" by – as you can probably tell by the above image – last year's Daft Punk tour!

While he won't have a $2 million light-up pyramid, he will be incorporating tons of massive video and projections into his set for the first time, featuring clips put together by VJ Brewski and VJ Jaren, as well as his own mashup video creations. Musically, it's going to be a "Party Ben Greatest Hits" set – so that means only one thing – be ready to dance your ass off!

Upstairs Lounge: '90s MASHUP ROOM hosted by DJ JAY-R

It's 2008, and you know what that means ... we're right on schedule for the '90s retro revival! So this month, DJ JAY-R hosts the '90s MASHUP ROOM in the upstairs lounge. He'll be joined by resident DJ ADRIAN, as the two of them relive the "whatever decade," spinning only mashups that feature songs from the 1990s.

This month, we are proud to feature two of our favorite mashup artists, the punk rock "Mashup Monsters" Howie Pyro and Jells Mayhem, a.k.a. THE ILLUMINOIDS. This LA-based duo have produced some of our favorite bootlegs from the past year – their calling card is their use of indie and alternative artists in their mashups – from the Germs to David Bowie, from Devo to The Trucks. They are also the co-creators of "Pretend We're Alala" (L7 vs. CSS), an officially-sanctioned mashup that was co-created by Donita Sparks of L7, and which has recieved almost 500,000 plays on CSS's official MySpace page. You can check out one of the Illuminoides newest tracks on our Bootie Top 10.

They will be doing a special guest DJ set from 10-11 PM, spinning a very eclectic set of tunes, so be sure to get there early!

2005's "We're Not VJs" was the world's first DVJ video-mixtape and was phenomenally received. Their second mix album, "Lock Up Your Videos," was just released in January, and with their ongoing remix projects and video podcasts, they continue to push the boundaries of mashup culture.

Upstairs: Introducing ELECTRO-BOOTIE, our new club-within-a-club

Those of you who keep tabs on our monthly Bootie Top 10 have probably noticed our unfettered love of dancey electro bootlegs. Hell, Adrian & the Mysterious D have been threatening to launch a new electro dance party for years ... but then Bootie kept getting in the way. But not anymore...

Starting this Saturday, and taking place every fourth Saturday of the month, we are proud to present ELECTRO-BOOTIE, our new "club-within-a-club" in the upstairs room of the DNA Lounge. This is where we'll be spinning all those electro bootlegs and covers, unofficial remixes, and electro-rock remixes that we love, but that don't really fit in with the "A vs. B" mashups that we play on the main floor. It's still gonna be Bootie-style ... but with a bass-heavy electro dance twist!

Each month we'll be showcasing a special guest DJ to join us at ELECTRO-BOOTIE, and for this first one, we are proud to welcome back bootlegger genius DJ EARWORM, creator of some of our favorite electro bootlegs. He'll be joined up there by resident DJs PARTY BEN and MYSTERIOUS D, who will finally get to spin all the electro tunes they've been saving up!

We know a lot of you like it when the resident DJs take over, so on Saturday night, the main room will be all about ADRIAN & the MYSTERIOUS D, as they throw down extra-long mashup sets, as well as DADA, who will kick off the night with a special 90-minute set as well. PARTY BEN will primarily be spinning upstairs at Electro-Bootie this time, but he will also be doing a short set on the main floor as well!

There will be NO SMASH-UP DERBY on fourth Saturdays, but don't worry, Bootie's house band will be back on Saturday, March 8th ... but until then, that means that yes, you can dance on the stage all night! Also, no Smash-Up Derby means DJ Adrian will be throwing down a longer DJ set on the main floor this Saturday! The night's going to be all about dancing your asses off!

Live on stage show: PARTY BEN ALIVE !

Bootie SF's resident DJ PARTY BEN has been hard at work, retiring his "Party Ben Kenobi" persona and cooking up a brand new feature DJ set, "inspired" by – as you can probably tell by the above image – last year's Daft Punk tour!

While he won't have a $2 million light-up pyramid, he will be incorporating tons of giant video and projections into his set for the first time, featuring clips put together by VJ Brewski and VJ Jaren, as well as his own mashup video creations. He did this show in San Francisco in January, and as you can see from the photo below, it was one of the best productions we've ever had at Bootie.

We are proud to be bringing this show to LA for the first time! Musically, it's going to be a "Party Ben Greatest Hits" set – so that means only one thing – be ready to dance your ass off!

Now that Bootie is twice a month, house band SMASH-UP DERBY gets to take a break every fourth Saturday. However, rest assured, Smash-Up Derby will still be playing Bootie every 2nd Saturday, and we're happy to have them back on the DNA Lounge stage this weekend!

This Saturday, Smash-Up Derby plans to play a "B-Sides Set," dusting off some forgotten favorites and a few mashups that the band doesn't play out too often. Expect a few surprises!

We love featuring other clubs and parties in the upstairs room at Bootie, and this month, we are proud to bring you – from New York City – WARPER!

Warper is NYC's premiere LIVE electronic music party. Kicking things off at 9:30 PM will be the PHONE SEX OPERATORS, a San Francisco-based DJ/guitar duo, who perform solid dance music but with live looping guitar laid out on on top. Get there early to check this out!

Starting at 10:30 PM, Warper co-creator and special guest DJ MOLDOVER will be throwing down nasty remixes and mashups, produced 100% live, on-the-fly, using Ableton Live and his custom-created controller, a style he calles live-remashing and controllerism.

DJ RAW-BURT is the creator of club BLENDER, a monthly party that takes place at The Faultline in Silverlake. And when we launched our LA party two years later, she was there, as our very first BOOTIE LA performer. Back then, she used to perform at Bootie quite a bit. But then she moved back to her hometown of Salt Lake City.

However – this Saturday, the Princess is back in LA, and we are happy to have her back, as she performs our first midnight mashup show at The Echoplex! Don't miss it!

Live on stage: from France, it's the return of DJ MOULE

France is a veritable hotbed of mashup talent these days, which is why Bootie is proud to present – live on stage – the triumphant return of DJ MOULE, one of the brightest stars of the currently-hot French bootleg scene.

When Moule played a late-night set at Bootie back in October, we were blown away, as he kept the club jumpin' to his unique bootleg style. Mixing indie rock with classic rock and dance beats, Moule is a natural stage performer, and he's crafted some of Bootie's most crowd-pleasing mashups.

11 PM: SMASH UP DERBY debuts a couple new tunes

Bootie house band SMASH UP DERBY has been hard at work this past month, cooking up some new mashups, which they promise to debut this Saturday. One of them could best be described as "goth-pop" or "darkwave R&B," and the other is a Bootie crowd favorite that you will love even more after hearing what Smash-Up Derby does with it live!

Joining them on stage will be special French guest MOULE, who will be singing a song that he and DJ Zebra played at Bootie back in October, when the two did their Bootlegs Live Band. Smash Up Derby loved the mashup, so they, ahem, "borrowed" it – now, it only seems fair that the band should give it back to Moule!

Upstairs: UNDER COVER LOUNGE – cover songs all night!

This month, we celebrate our love of all forms of manipulated pop music with the debut of the UNDER COVER LOUNGE! DJs EARWORM, SUPPOSITORI SPELLING, and ADRIAN will be taking over the upstairs room and playing cover songs all night!

Be ready to not only dance your asses off, but play a guessing game of who's covering what. We'll be spinning very eclectic sets, featuring fresh takes on familiar classics, as well as a few hidden gems as well.

All-video mashup set: PARTY BEN ALIVE!

Not only is he one of the best mashup DJ/producers in America, San Francisco's PARTY BEN is also turning into a VJ. This month, we're proud to feature his new set, "inspired" by – as you can probably tell by the above image – last year's Daft Punk tour!

While it won't have a $2 million light-up pyramid, it will be a special ALL-VIDEO mashup showcase, featuring clips put together by VJ Brewski and VJ Jaren, as well as his own mashup video creations. He's done this show in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and now, he's finally bringing it to New York City.

For your viewing pleasure, we'll have video monitors set up on the dance floor! And musically, it's going to be a "Party Ben Greatest Hits" set – so that means only one thing – be ready to dance your ass off!

DJ WiiJ band MIYAMOTO presents Super Mash Brothers: Bootie

This Saturday, it's the next evolution of DJing – it's the live DJ WiiJ band, MIYAMOTO, who will be debuting their new stage show, Super Mash Brothers: Bootie (Yes, this is a band rife with Nintendo references!) Miyamoto is a unique hybrid band which combines a DJ using hacked Nintendo Wii controllers (known as "WiiJing") with live guitar, video mixing, keyboards, and other Wii devices, such as a wireless Guitar Hero controller.

For the gearheads in the crowd, it's a tech wet dream – but for the rest of us who just want to dance and party, Miyamoto delivers the goods, playing a dance-friendly set of Wii-controlled mashup hits!

Every fourth Saturday of the month, we present ELECTRO-BOOTIE in the upstairs room, our "club-within-a-club" where we showcase electro bootlegs, covers, and remixes.

This month, our favorite mashup DJ from Philadelphia, DJ MAXENTROPY, joins us on the decks for some electro goodness, while MR. ANTHONY – who spun an amazing electro set at GUILTY at the last Bootie – returns to rock the dance floor!
