My fragile inner child

story of my life

   Mon, January 15, 2007 - 10:44 AM
here I am again, with nothing to do but browse the internet. this time around its because I'm backing up the last two years' work to be sent off to Scholastic to finalize the project. The result is that I'm back at the old "George Jetson" job description, and boy, is my button-pushing finger ever killing me.

I'm a bit astonished with how quickly the Internet bores me to tears. Every scrap if information available to mankind, and I get bored in under three hours.

sheesh.

Mr.Lokifreign ,

Yes, pushing buttons on the computer can be a drag sometimes .

I certainly hope the project goes well .

Sometimes the internet can seem like a long wasteland of boredom and kitch --with blind allleys and files not found . I can empathize there . . What often makes it more of a drag, furthermore, is that some websites have the print of the text so small and/or the color of the text or the background the wrong color so that it hurts the eyes to try and discern what is being presented . I hate it when they do that !

Yet on some days the internet can open up places and information of awe . I learned a lot about ants by following a hyperlink to wikipedia from a site called the Huge Entity ---and discovered many fascinating apparent facts about ants --including evidence that ant colonies may posses a group mind .

Recently with the internet I found that a reportedly top notch resturaunt is located in Chicago called Charlie Trotter (I like the name) . It reportedly is one of the top 10 resturaunts on the planet . I may never get there , but if I ever get to chicago I'll know the resturaunt to go to . (Although being poor I'd probably have to order appertizers though even they would probably be somewhat expensive) .

The internet has been kind in another way , in that a girl I met in Bartow (where I've recently moved) has managed to record me several music compositions off the internet of one of the greatest composers : Edgar Varese the French-American composer
The CD she "burned" for me includes compositions like 'Ionization' and 'Arcana' . I'm quite greatful to her for that .

Bryan told me about the health problems you've been having. I certainly hope you get to feeling better ....

Fond Regards ,

Jay
