You are the Phoenician Alphabet! Teacher of the Greeks and Etruscans, you are the one all languages bow down to. That is, until the Romans decide to wipe out your civilization. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

James and Nancy are Proud to Announce the Birth of their Child, Marcus Stanley Findlay Arthur, on 30, 01, 1959.
Unfortunately, Marcus Stanley Findlay Arthur was born with the ability to start fires with their mind.
James and Nancy are terribly sorry.

Buckwheat. Rhubarb really. Indeed a blessing!

The mainstay and salvation of my life! The only flour product that gives me even a vaguely normal lifestyle as far as the carbs go. I used the last 1/4 cup this afternoon making pear, apple and coconut (sugar-free) flap jacks. Heavenly of course. I devoured all 15 flap jacks over the course of the afternoon -- as I eat two bowls of rice every four weeks and no other carbohydrate/wheat/grain product in something like eight week between intervals of the buckwheat over the Winter period. I am by no means guilty nor apologetic.

But It will be a long haul from now until after Easter when I can buy some more of the stuff here. I wonder why that is. And NO Amaranth does NOT compensate!

As a gruel with nut meats, dried fruits cream and honey it's fine if cooked until tender. Not my fav but I will eat it and no it's not satisfying when ya want a bagel with a smear and lox, or a chocolate cake.

Email in reply to my enquiry about renting a flat on Jersey:

Dear Mr Findlay-Arthur

I am sorry to advise you that you will be unable to rent a flat that is regulated by our local Housing laws.  This means that any property with  A  - H or J category on it (and that is 99% of the properties) you are unable to rent.

You can rent what is classed as a Lodging house, or an unqualified flat (with no Housing regulations on it).  You could try the Sandrand Hotel as during the winter months they fill the hotel with non qualified (housing) persons.

I am sorry that I can not help or give you happier news

Best of luck for now

So ... um ... how was Estrella? (blog entry) What's happened to the RoKhan? How did the Baronessa fare? Who won the scorpion wars? How cold was it and did the bed warmers measure up to expectations? Anyone see Animal in Yamina's coat? How is the alfalfa doing?

It's so very nice to see the Brothers coming up ... (blog entry) Yes it is.
Comforting in fact. There is a warm and fuzzy side to the whole virtual mysteries that I adore. Rather like sneaking dark chocolates on a cold night before a blazing log fire with jugs of hot creamy chocolate to wash it down with! Deat... read more

So pretty cool. Unfortunately, I do suspect that we're actually discussing kumiss here and brave as I am I still sweat since I confuse the principle with the Masai milk and blood treat.
