I look around to my familiar surrounding and say goodbye
to the fog rolling gently over the headlands
to the tide working its way patiently in and then right back out again
to the vagrants on the corner near the bike path
to the Bat Rays that eat the mussles
to the leapard shark
to the Blue Heronthat majestically soars about
to the seal I saw yesterday to the dead rat
to the cramped little kitchen that I have come to love so much
to the dock where I worship the sunset
to the ducks I raised
to the duck pen that I would have used to raise the next batch of ducks
goodbye
