I'm into Ren Faire, Burning Man (Prometheatrics Camp), and the LA area rave, goth/industrial and 80's scenes.

I have the coolest friends in the universe: hippies, ravers and goths, artists, performers, activists. About the only things they have in common are their willingness to live life on their own terms - the fundamental element of true freedom. These are the people whose company I have sought, not because they are like me, but because they are the ones I want to be more like. They are the mad ones, the only ones for me.

I got a late start on enjoying life. I'm very busy making up for all that. Until a few years ago, I was a workaholic, homebody computer nerd with no social skills and no social life. Four years ago I very deliberately set out to change all that, forcibly and drastically. I succeeded, more than I ever dreamed. Now, I go out till dawn two or three times a week. I know people from all walks of life, people very different from me. Some of these friends I love like family. I am, at last, happy.

Today I stand on the cusp of another major transformation. Burning Man challenged me to question my life yet again, opened my eyes to my own potentials and possibilities. Major things are about to happen again. I don't know what is in store yet, but I'm looking forward to the ride. :)
