about me
*NEWS FLASH* I will be moving to back to the South Bay Area in *August* to pursue permaculture and organic agriculture training (still in Chicago till then). Anybody involved in this in the NorCal area are *highly* encouraged to message me (I'll be looking for y'all, too!)
I have made a conscious choice to lead a radically healthier life than I have thus far. I am committed to living a vegan lifestyle, though I'm new enough to still be caught unawares by products with stealth animal ingredients (casein, gelatin, whey, etc., or "dude, what's in my granola bar?!"), so I'm trying to rely on fresh, unpackaged veggies and fruit, whole grain breads and other healthful bounty of nature rather than industrially processed fare. I would love to talk to other vegetarians/vegans, both new and experienced about this wonderful and vital way of living. Ganja is my anti-drug, so as Ben Harper said, if you don't like my fire, then don't come around. I try to remember that life is a path of progress, rather than perfection, but dammit, perfect always looks so good! If you want labels for my spirituality, I suppose you could call me a Gnostic Christian, Unitarian Universalist, with heavy Rastafarian leanings. But it's never about the label, is it? As the J man said, "...by their works you shall know them." I want to know how you're being the change you want to see in the world. Tell me your thoughts on what living a life of "radical compassion" means to you. I'm going to change the world. Wanna help? Music. Music, music, music, music. Constantly, playing, being played, and singing in my mind. I play guitar, mostly metal, compose digital symphonic pieces, and am looking to learn how to develop my voice and start doing more singing. I mainly just record projects by myself, and though I wouldn't be opposed to being in and playing locally with a band, I have absolutely no desire to be a professional musician. I enjoy my creative freedom and the last thing I want to do is to start selling what I love. Ultimately, I'm trying to learn how to walk with a soft footprint in this world, and to pursue joy in my life.
