come cleanse (and get a big discount too!)
Hey all,My office (at 2nd in mission) is going to be hosting a 2 week cleanse with Dr. Cory. We are doing a trade with her, so it's going to be super cheap ($100! It's normally $300), but we need more people to participate! You still get to eat (except for a couple days that are just liquid) but you do need to cut certain foods out of your diet for a couple of weeks, and you take supplements which are included in the price. You would need to come to our office for three classes that she will be giving three classes that are mandatory. We're working on the date/times, but its going to be roughly:
This Thurs or Fri (Nov 1st or 2nd in the afternoon, and we get products then too)
Monday the 13th (afternoon)
Friday the 16th (afternoon)
Let me know ASAP if you are interested!
Peace,
Carrie

visit to Boulder
Hey everybody,I am thinking of coming to Boulder to visit and get all my stuff that is in storage. I am super psyched to hang out, ski, go to dance class, trade body work, make food together, etc. I am thinking of coming the week of Dec 18th and staying through NYE (so 2 weeks). During that time I will probably be taking a road trip with my friend Kirill and going skiing and stuff, so it's not like I'll be around the whole whole time. I am wondering when all of you will be around. I will probably be staying with Kirill most of the time, but in case I need another place, I am wondering who might be able to host me and for how long. Also, I am trying to find a ski pass I could borrow from a woman, does anyone have any ideas who might have one from our group of friends? I would be willing to pay her a little bit for the favor. Anywho, I am super looking forward to spending time with all of you. Send me your thoughts!
Lots of love,
Carrie
it's getting stompy in here, (or it's not)
Hey friends,So I finally did it! I auditioned for STOMP in Vegas, and it was hella fun, but alas, I did not get the part. I totally nailed the choreography and did my absolute best, so I can be proud of myself, but perhaps my style wasn't their flavor. I thought I looked pretty cool though :) I met some amazing folks through Tribe who were ultra kind and put me up in their home, much gratitude to Russell, Jay and Boone. So, back to Oakland and working as a legal assistant, dancing my ass off, looking for a place to live and continuing to cultivate my skills as a world-bridger.
Peace and love,
Carrie

Viruses to be Sprayed on US Foods
Greetings friends,I was reading the SF chronicle yesterday (8/19) and came across an incredibly scary article. It says the FDA for the first time ever has approved viruses to be used as a food additive. The article was in the Health Section of the SF Chronicle and was written by Andrew Bridges if you want to look it up. I feel like this is too scary not to tell everyone I know about it.
-Basically, if you are veggie, you are fine, because this relates to meat.
-The viruses can be sprayed on any meat products and are designed to Listeria bacterium, and not human or plant cells
-Listeria affects approx 2,500 people per year, according to the CDC (Center for Disease control) of those 500 people die. People most affected are pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems.
-"As long as it is used in accordance with the regulations, we have concluded it's safe," Andrew Zajac (of the FDA) said.
-CONSUMERS WON'T BE AWARE THAT MEAT AND POULTRY PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH THE SPRAY, THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE WILL REGULATE THE ACTUAL USE OF THE PRODUCT
-the FDA has concerns that the virus preparation could potentially contain toxic residues associated with the bacteria, but testing has not reveal that presence, and small quantities of it wouldn't cause health problems anyway, according to the FDA.
-"The FDA is applying one of the toughest food safety standards which they have to find this safe. They couldn't approve this product if they had questions about it's safety." -Caroline Smith DeWaal, director of food safety for the CEnter for Science in the Public Interest
-luncheon meats are most likely to have the viruses sprayed on them because they are the most succeptable to listeriosis
DO YOU WANT TO EAT VIRUSES? DON'T BUY CONVENTIONAL MEAT PRODUCTS!
Please spread the word that this is happening, and it is very real, and very scary.
