I'll never forget the first time I took a friend to see Amaya dance. What he said struck that "Lost chord" in me that I will always (feel ) when I see her dance, "She is like the wind!" An Honor to be her friend, and a Great inspiration!

Amaya is a true inspiration her spirit and energy are incomparable. If I had to choose , despite my limited contact with her, I would have to say she is one of two dancers that has influenced me most. I learned exactly what I wanted to be as a dancer after taking a workshop with her in 2005. It was as if in one swift minute my mind was opened and inspiration flowed. To watch her perform is to see a true Goddess at work.

Amaya is a bright spirit who eperveses love. She's an excellent teacher and the way she groups things and organzies them makes it easy for your brain to digest. She's just a wonderful person and you really should get the chance to meet her and know her. Hugs!

Just to catch you up on a turbulent 2008 year. Two deaths in the family (one being my sweet mom) in the beginning of 2008 really sent me reeling. Life became so much more precious as my emotions ran high. And these events took the wind out of my dance sails for quite awhile.... The New Mexico Shake & Bake Dance Festival came and went in August and it was a fun and huge success. It was my 23rd year and since 23 is my lucky number, I finally retired this event.
