I have been a high school math teacher for over 18 years. I love to fight. I took Judo for over 4 years and now enjoy sword fighting. Its a great frustration outlet.

Phil is doing better. He has spent the last two days without having to take pain meds. Big deal you say? It is to a man who has been on pain meds for over a month. A man who has to spend his days from bed to lazy boy chair not being able to do anything but watch TV. Maybe for some of you that's the life you'd like to live, sittin on your ass doin nothing but watch the tube and be on drugs. Well, it isn't any life for Phil. Phil did his first physical therapy today. The good news, the therapist thinks it will be 6 to 8 weeks for recovery and possibly no surgery. We are waiting on the MRI authorization right now. Days when the rain falls, he is in agony. When the weather is good, he keeps some of his sense of humor. Having family come visit really helps. Thanks Sue. He is kind of house bound since he is on lots of pain meds. Your prayers are appreciated. Phil says we are doing Halloween come " hell or high water...

It has been a long painful trip. I was hoping to avoid another year with Phil in the hospital, or even dealing with doctors. This last week has been a nightmare. Phil started out last weekend in a lot of pain in his upper left arm and shoulder. It wasn't as bad as kidney stones, but it was up there. Two urgent clinic and one ER visit later we finally got a referral to an orthopedic specialist today. The ortho doc figures its in his neck because he himself had a similar problem. The pain seeme...

After all the rain last weekend you'd think that was it for strange shit happening but NOoooooo. Last Friday we had a "fire drill" at my work. Normally, it lasts no longer than 5 minutes after we get everyone evacuated. We were outside for 30 minutes. We stood and watched as people from the main office and the local police ran around and looked in garbage cans. Later, we were congratulated on how well we had done the "drill".
