This morning, Melissa and I were discussing my day's schedule (work, then a production meeting for The Island of Dr. Moreau, then rehearsal), and my 3-year-old daughter Eleanor misheard the conversation and asked, "You have a beating tonight, Daddy?"
I stopped and thought--"Well, I am choreographing Prendick's flogging and abuse of Dog Woman"--so I could honestly answer: "Yes, Ellie, yes I do."

Last Saturday I made the trek to Port Washington (accompanied by my charming daughter Eleanor) to check out the Maritime Heritage Festival and to do a site survey for Pirate Festival 2008 with the "2 Kims" (Chavez and McCullough). Also got to see Dean and Bounding Main and some other friends as well, and to sail on the gaff-rigged schooner Appledore IV. A good time.
