Right now, I am taking a break from school, and working fulltime at a non-profit. I work doing Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services, I also do HIV Testing, and talk about other STD’s and Hep C. My job is intense, so I have been learning more about self care.
I BA, in Psychology (with all my classes focused on human sexuality.) I want to do counseling; my next step is grad school. I also want to do more social justice work.
I am somewhat out going, but also like to have some quality time to myself. I am told I am grounded and I have a dry sense of humor. I feel I am open and direct when it comes to communication also if/ when issues/conflicts come up. I like people who can make me laugh. After all like the say: laughter is good for the soul!
I am in DP (Domestic partnership) with a lovely Australian woman, who gets the real me and my funny since of humor.
I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, and travel (if and when I have the funds).I like to try new things. I also enjoy talking with people about various issues/ topics, and to go on walks to explore the world around me.
In a town that is full of labels, I choose, not to have one as much as possible. People assume that I am butch/stud when they look at me, but I do not ID myself as butch. I feel I am many things at different times. If I had to choose a label, I would say queer.
