about me
I have been performing Raks Sharki or what is commonly known in the US as Belly Dance, for the past 8 years. During that time I’ve had the good fortune of dancing and training with some of the best teachers in the country and abroad. Also to have been mentored from a young age by family friends of Turkish and Arabic decent. I have been fortunate to have been raised in a multiculrual enviroment and introduced to the culture at a young age. My mother side is Latin/Arabic so it's in my blood! My performing career has been a wonderful journey, Much Restaurant in Greensboro, NC, the Winston Salem Christmas Parade in Winston Salem, Ruby Scarab’s Winter Hafla, The Hand of Fatima with Rossah in Las Vegas, and in Hawaii’s first theatrical representation of Belly Dance as a core performer in 2005. Currently teaching classes at various locations in Hawaii.
I have danced at various restaurants, festivals, private parties and Belly Grams from Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, Miami, and North Carolina. As a performing artist, I strive to offer the community a positive and accurate representation of an often misunderstood and misconstrued art form. Nadira's Papyrus Journey

When I was 14 years old. Our family was befriended by an exhuberant Turkish woman. She lived in our neighborhood. She was full of life and mischief! She had told me one day, "You want to learn to dance? I teach you". We'd watch Arabic TV and I knew then that this is what I wanted to do!
