Isa - thank you for being a source of inspiration in my journey through flow expressionism. as a dance partner, as a poi instructor, as an urger to follow ones heart, as a fellow performer, and as a friend: the divinity within me salutes the divinity within you.

It doesn't surprise me that Glitter Girl has 331 friends listed here. I'm positive she has hundreds more. Perhaps thousands. Who hasn't she met who hasn't been transformed, even in a small way, for the better? Speak to her once and you'll get a spark from her energy. See her once and you'll notice something different about her than anyone else you've ever met. Hang around with her a bit and you'll positively catch on fire. Get to know her and your life will never be the same again. My first meeting with her did not get off to an auspicious start. I went to Burning Man, intent on learning more poi. A friend and I went to one of her advertised poi classes on the Playa. We arrived to find about a dozen other people there, all standing in a line, and there she was running up and down the line giving instructions. She came over to speak to us briefly and determined that I and my friend were not beginning students so she asked us to hang back a bit while she attended to the beginners. Time passed as we watched her instruct the others. A lot of time. It seemed she had forgotten about us, so we turned and walked away. Too bad, I thought. She seemed like she knew what she was doing. She seemed so passionate and intense. I could tell there was something about her that was different and it piqued my interest, but I couldn't put my finger on exactly what it was. I just knew that I was disappointed I wouldn't be learning anything from her because she seemed so dedicated to teaching poi yet so rude to ignore us like that. As we walked on, we heard someone calling to us from behind. We turned to see her running after us! “Wait! Come back! I have something to tell you,” she yelled. I was so surprised, I stood there stunned as she led us back to the group and then solely concentrated on us, asking us questions, pinning us down with her intense eyes, then showing us her moves, watching ours, giving us immediate insight into what we were doing right and what could be done differently, giving us a poi overdose. I already was a poi addict, but after meeting her I became a Temple of Poi addict. The rest is just a blur, but I knew then that I would be coming back to her somehow, some way, to learn more. And sure enough, some time later there I was flying halfway across the country just to take her classes. My god, what a trip! I’ve never been so enveloped by a personality. She’s a force of nature. It was like being in a poi tornado. And that’s all I have left to say about Glitter Girl – what a trip!

It is through friendship with Isa that I discovered what "being deeply seen" really means. Relating with her makes me consistently raise my bar of expectations from life. Her depth, sensitivity, willpower, intelligence and drive are incredibly inspiring. She is unstoppable in manifesting her dreams. A natural leader and community builder, she is the living statement of "I can". She is also an amazing dancer, artist, and Woman. Isa is awesome!
