Birthday Girl
(blog entry)
Well, today's my birthday. It started out with somebody trying to con me out of my truck for the day (I won!). It's been raining all day and my truck leaks. I was late to work because of the failed truck con.
But once I got here to school, the w...

I'm ALIVE!
(blog entry)
I no longer have daily access to internet, but I am still alive. My sincere apologies to my friends, but this situation will hopefully only last a little while longer. My life is kinda crazy right now.
My new philosophy is: It never hurts ...

Rowdy
(blog entry)
It all started because I was smoking a smelly cigar. I was celebrating, dammit! Yesterday was the last day of school, and I went out to the bar enjoy it with a couple friends (who aren't teachers). I'd already had some Guinness to drink at our ...

Long Weekend
(blog entry)
I had the best hike ever this weekend! My two friends and I didn't leave until almost two in the afternoon on Saturday, but we drove all the way up to Homestake Valley. There, we parked the car next to a pile of rocks. We took our medicine and ...

It just gets better and better
(blog entry)
I'm on an emotional high right now. No regrets, no balls and chains, no nothing. I met someone Saturday night and now I have three or four new friends to hang out with. They are like my old friends a little bit - they like the same music, same ...

I took this picture from the deck of my log cabin. I'm looking west at the tallest mountain in Colorado.
I live on the southern slope of Mt. Zion. I took this picture from the deck of my log cabin.
This is the mountain to the east of my cabin. The sunset colors look great on that white snow.
I see this mountain out my front door. It lies to the south of my cabin.
about me
I am very poor in money, but rich in other things. I live in a log cabin in the San Isabel National Forest 3 or 4 miles northeast of Leadville, Colorado with my husband/boyfriend Steve, our infant son, Brendan, and our two dogs who we treat like kids, Bajangles and Turkish. I teach the subjects of Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies to sixth graders at Berry Creek Middle School in Edwards, Colorado. I teach the English part of the Dual Language Program (The other language is Spanish.). I am very Sagittarius.
Well, today's my birthday. It started out with somebody trying to con me out of my truck for the day (I won!). It's been raining all day and my truck leaks. I was late to work because of the failed truck con.
But once I got here to school, the whole day has just gotten better and better. I'm a substitute teacher in the same special ed room I was in yesterday. I had warned everyone that today was my birthday. One of the students made me a card last night at her house and gave it to me when I...

It all started because I was smoking a smelly cigar. I was celebrating, dammit! Yesterday was the last day of school, and I went out to the bar enjoy it with a couple friends (who aren't teachers). I'd already had some Guinness to drink at our table in the back, and had just lit up when I went to the bar to order another. Granted, this couple to my left were at th bar before me. But they were smoking cigarettes themselves, and were complaining about the smell of the cigar. I explained t...

I had the best hike ever this weekend! My two friends and I didn't leave until almost two in the afternoon on Saturday, but we drove all the way up to Homestake Valley. There, we parked the car next to a pile of rocks. We took our medicine and took off our long-sleeved shirts, and UP we hiked. It was a big pile of rocks. We figured, why stop there? We were absolutely alone in the woods. I was really proud of myself because I was able to keep up with a guy who is 6'5" (What's so special...

I'm on an emotional high right now. No regrets, no balls and chains, no nothing. I met someone Saturday night and now I have three or four new friends to hang out with. They are like my old friends a little bit - they like the same music, same sense of humor, etc. But they also have new aspects - they know a lot about the cosmos and nutrition and all sorts of other stuff. I drank this tea last night that made everything so happy (not THAT kind of tea - it was herbs and roots). I still ...
