Belly Belly Hip held thier annual troupe retreat on my fav. Gulf Island-Galliano Island.
It was such a beautiful space to dance, drum, laugh, eat, drink in. The view was stunning; high up on the bluffs above Active Pass. I enjoyed my early mornings on the deck watching the ravens play in the slipstream. I also had an amazing walk where, I ended up at a historical perserve featureing a Japanese charcoal kiln site! When you walk with Bridgid, She'll lead you to a forge.....
It was a great creative time for the troupe as well, coming up with new costume ideas and new dancing ideas. So great to have a weekend away with your dance sisters; completely restores the soul.
I can't wait for next year!

Belly Belly Hip performed at the annual MEDA Galla show; Twilight at the Oasis. It was a great show with such a variety of acts - it was so cool. I want some wings of Isis !!!
I was so proud to be on the stage with my dance sisters in Belly Belly Hip representing ATS belly dance. It was also my first time on such a huge stage with all those bright lights; very strange not to be able to see or connect with the audience. One of the highlights was having a dressing room for us to goof off in!

Halloween is the Celtic New Year and witches believe it is the time of year when the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead is thin. This is the time of year when we ask our ancestors, whom we call our Beloved Dead for guidance and we grieve for those loved ones who crossed over the veil durring the year. All are welcome to the Reclaiming Tradition Spiral Dance annual Samhain ritual....
