Downshifted to the countryside several years ago, and do not miss the sedentary job or the commuting at all, only the people and the paychecks!
I took up belly dance because I realised that dance was missing from my life, and felt too old, fat and unfit to go back to ballet and contemporary dance, which had been my former loves before work and illness got in the way. Now teaching belly dance, making made-to-order practice-wear and trying to extend belly dance activities in my area, to encourage all women to dance, regardless of their age, size and shape.
I do occasional transcription work, grow fruit and vegetables, record moths, learn Welsh, help my partner to renovate and extend the farmhouse and farm and love my life!
