1.
The title is in itself a snare1, since we2 never had any zodiacal legacy at all3. We discover it only towards the end of our days, by Mayan reckoning.
2.
Newton, Nostradamus or Kepler had no idea of the zodiac, much as Cassini Galileo or even Hipparchus4 never registered the precession of the ascendant.
3.
As concern the zodiacal question5, someone like Ptolemy can not even pass for a confused beginner.
4.
Most astronomers and astrologers never even thought of inspecting the zodiac. For them, there was nothing to inspect, planetary zodiacs6 including.
5.
The article requires some minimal acquaintance with the Academic Zodiac and Precessed Ascendant set.
6.
As literature on the subject abounds, there should be no problem in clarifying issues over the Internet. Of course, it would be preposterous to demand zodiacality from observatories or even astrological lodges, since the zodiac decided to hide from humanity since its very incipient steps.
7.
Even with the Mayan alignment behind us7, we are still at the end or over the edge of times, as we discover the local zodiac8 only with the famous alignment that may have happened years ago.
8.
In scanning the zodiac, we determined the 22 zodiacal constellations. This operation was never done, since it was assumed that there are only 13 of them.
9.
There are only 13 zodiacal stations if we leave all zodiacal matters to the Sun. This would imply a rather patriarchal view of the omniverse, precisely whatever mentality styled our recent religions.
10.
Pastoral ways being abandoned, we find ourselves in fabril times, where man creates his own futurity with the RTRRT. Instant magick is no longer an issue, it is a fact. Due to a comparatively small number of eastern ascendants, 16, the planet is uniform in expression we finally all understand each other at the expense of loss of versatility. Modern man is specialized.
11.
In lack of astrologers, it is the task of the avatar of the on to inspect, update and present the local zodiac and ascendant set.,
12.
One of the major drawbacks of what went under astrology was lack of observation for precession. Nostradamus e.g. had no idea of the precession of the ascendants.
13.
Astrology has really nothing to do with Sun signs, really. One can analyze a horoscope along with accurate predictions while leaving the Sun out. It should not affect analysis, not even by 5% as concern accuracy. True, it is best to have all the planets in producing a horoscope, but let us suppose that the horoscope sheet got damaged from the side of the Sun, OK? He astrologer will nevertheless divine issues even while riding a horse in the desert with absolutely no tools, ephemerides or electric appliances. Why so? Because astrology has always been done by heart.

1A snare for default mind, of course.
2By “we” it is understood Europe, but on inspection, one will hardly find any reliable zodiacality even in the ancient civilizations.
3We dabbled with models like children playing with toys. A toy car is not the real car, of course.
4We however offer a generous chance in that Hipparchus was aware of the ascendant set issue.
5More precisely Zodiacal Offset.
6As published along with abundant graphic material.
7A debate in which the Mayan end of the world would be demonstrated as already far behind us would unmistakeably stir interest in most areas of modern spirituality.
8The expression was greatly clarified in Planetocentric Astrology, as recently partly republished as Astrology in Outer Space.
