Hey, Veru,

When are you going to have some of you music available online for those of us who are far away to enjoy?
June 4, 2007
Veru is.

As preface to anything Veru says, imagine him saying, "If this were my dream, here's what I think it would mean..."

... except the part about how he treats a woman. I wouldn't know much about that.
And actually, he's not such a bad cook.

about me
I'm a guitarist and song-writer easing my way through an all-to-familiar life. I'm looking to expand myself artistically, spiritually, and socially. I love to write, to sing, to dance, to play music, and to watch and experience others doing the same. I'm currently working on regaining quantum leadership over this dream-flash spaceship, taking my place as king of me and all I see, and eliminating war where it starts.

My Recent Activity

Back in the Bay (blog entry) I am working, watching, and letting myself be without the need to always do. I am at more peace than I have perhaps ever been in this body. I work 15 hours a week, and spend about 15 hours a week in Savasana. I am listening.

A poem for my friends and lovers (blog entry) My lovers,
I say this freely to everyone in the crowd
that we are lovers who are bonded yet can never be bound.
In the chambers of our passion ancient secrets are found.

we know the core of all pleasures,

Part of me wants to say that these are long over-due, but it is clear now that this is the right time for these affirmations to fruit in the garden of my mind. Just as the mango tree holds back its fruit until the weather is right, the season is right, and the ground is ready to receive, so these affirmation have lain unspoken in the recesses of my mind, perhaps one finding voice here, another there, but never gathered in a single place...and even now these affirmations are but the beginning... read more

My lovers,
I say this freely to everyone in the crowd
that we are lovers who are bonded yet can never be bound.
In the chambers of our passion ancient secrets are found.
Eyes closed, breath in measures,
we know the core of all pleasures,
enraptured by the dance of the rivers and clouds.

My lovers,
eyes aimed at me,
knocked, locked and feathered,
loosed from the yew bow,
I bow to you, you know,
my reflections and children
to whom my base afflictions
cause despair and confusion,... read more

Working working wo-working, working wo-working, working working.

I've learned a lot. I can now read Sanskrit, though understanding is another matter entirely. My body is finally starting to open up, and while my hips are still closed, I can feel my hamstrings beginning to lengthen. I'm almost to the point of being able to maintain balance in an inversion. Still miles to go, I'm actually beginning to enjoy asana, and while pranayama still seems out of my reach due to some sinus complica... read more

...going to do me a lot of yoga...

I'm here at the Grass Valley Sivananda Yoga Ashram, and its surprisingly comfortable and familiar. The kitchen reminds one of those you might find at Lothlorien in Berkeley, except that it is clean. The lodging is modest but comfortable, and houses little but my sleeping body for the 6-7 hours I sleep. The schedule is not as difficult as I may have thought at one point. The asanas are challenging, but well worth the effort. I may have the chance to l... read more
