A story about my friend Kris. On my birthday when I turned 19 I had a party at my house. I lived in an old run down house in Denton, Texas with four or five of my friends and the house had a big front porch where we used to hang out, mostly because they all smoked constantly. That night as the party was winding down around 4 in the morning, a huge rainstorm hit and the street in front of our house was instantly filled with water, rushing down from all of the concrete on the hill above. There was at least 10 inches of water in the street and in some places there was up to a couple of feet. At some point when we were sitting on the porch, Kris dissapeared and suddenly we saw him, like a flash of light, running through the rain, wind, and water like some kind of crazy African animal, jumping into the river forming at the end of our street and floating on his back until he dissapeared around the corner. My roomate looked at me a little dumbfounded and said "Well, there goes freedom". We called him that ever since.

Kris and I have known eachother for 4 years, and I couldn't ask for a more loving, accepting, nurturing friend. He has been a great teacher for me, opening my eyes and soul into my insecurities, fears, and attachments. He is cherished greatly, and I hold him very close to my heart. AHO! Pookie Bear
