My Blog

So I entered a contest on the Geisha Moth tribe, and I could win one of her fabulous new tops called Incognito. All I need is some kind folks to go to my photos and post a comment under the photo of the top (Amy Sigil is modeling it, so I don't think you can miss it). I don't even think the comment has to pertain to the photo, you could just write "Kilroy was here". Anyway I have until the 24th to get as many comments as possible by as many different people as possible. I don't have anything to offer in return, just my sincere gratitude. So, thanks in advance!

Oh and I'm going to try to link to it to make it even more easy to do

It's Girl Scout Cookie time again! Yay! I think I just finished my 4th box! I can feel my belly growing more round with each scrumptious morsel. I remember going door to door as a girl scout selling cookies, and I was my oldest daughter's Brownie Leader for 3 years and was in charge of the cookie sales. We would store the extras at our house and every time I got a craving there they were. I would spend WAY too much money each year on them!

Here are my favorites:
1. Thin Mints, hands down
2. Tag-a-longs you know, those yummy chocolate ones with the peanut butter inside
3. Do-di-do's the other peanut butter ones--kinda like a peanut butter oreo, great for breakfast
4. Samoas the chocolatey coconut ones

last year they also had a yummy lemon snap, but alas tis gone this year....

What's your favorite(s)? Enquiring minds want to know!

Well, yesterday afternoon I came back into the house after having been outside for a while and I smelled something stinky. The more I sniffed the more it smelled like cat pee...yeah, you know...it has that very distinct yucky smell. I have always prided myself that even though I have a few cats (ok, 5), my house hasn't ever smelled "catty". So this was driving me crazy, and company was coming for dinner so I was freaking out a bit. I was even on hands and knees sniffing the carpets and drapes trying to find where this smell was coming from, but to no avail. Anyway, I just told my friends what was going on and asked for their understanding, and we went on to enjoy a very rowdy, noisy evening of pizza and kids running wild. After everyone left, I again began to sniff around the house. Well, I got to the big philodendron that we keep in the corner of the dining room, and viola! Smell found! As I looked closer I realized it wasn't the plant that smelled, but a big white and gray tom cat hiding behind the plant. Since we have a kitty door to the outside for our own cats, it's not uncommon for us to see a stray sneak in once in a while, but they usually run back out as soon as they see us. So figuring this guy might be a bit wild, I opened the door to make it easy for him to head for the laundry room where the cat door is and got the broom to persuade him to move. Sounds easy.....not! This guy went out of his mind. Instead of hitting the floor and running for a door he kept trying to climb the walls and the curtains and the window frames, all the while knocking stuff over. We opened the two sliding glass doors and now with my husband and son's help we began again to try to get this smelly guy out of the house...this time successfully. Huzzah! Anyway, it was kind of weird that he snuck in in the middle of the day, and I'm sure he was scared to death by all the noise and chaos that went on BEFORE I found him and then further traumatized by the chase to get him out. Now I have to try to figure out some solution to keep these strays out, and my cats happy....dang it, it's always something!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Saw the Bellydance Superstars last night with my friend in San Rafael. What a great show. Petite Jamilla and the spinning and veils...Sabah and the ballet-bellydance...bellynesian....Rachel Brice....the music....I loved the way they would mix all the different styles...omg just too much to even write, the highlight to me was Sonia's drum solo and Jillina's drum solo. That is truly an art. Fun, fun. On the way there, we ended up going the wrong way and instead of going up and around SF, we ended up going right through, and I mean we messed up so badly that we went all the way through downtown, to fisherman's wharf and pier 39, then back out and over the Golden Gate. Talk about the scenic route! Sheesh! Had a blast and we're home safe and sound, hurrah!

I'm married and a mom of 4 great kids--20, 17, 8 and 6. I work in "food service" which is fine for now until I find a real job. I teach a beginning belly dance class, and belong to a troupe. Belly dance is my passion and I really need my nights out dancing to keep my sanity.
