about me
Hi! I just started Bellydance classes in early '07 with Lana of Detroit Bellydance and a few months later with Aida Al Adawi. I love learning from both of these amazing women. Lana teaches in several locations around the area. Her classes are just wonderful! Check her out at detroitbellydance.com. Aida is one of the originals and a master. She is out of Pontiac and Rochester. Check her out at aidaofsanfrancisco.com.
Previously I wrote that I don't think I am a natural dancer, like some. Well, I have been thinking about that statement and I don' think it's true. Not for most anyone, including myself. For me, I believe I just need the inner confidence to give myself over to the moves and the music. I think that is true for a lot of people, in a lot of areas... not just dance. I'm working on taking care of that issue now so I can be free. One thing I know for sure is that I will never stop learning. In addition to all that, I am the proud momma of 2 Great Pyrenees - George & Mocha. Both are pampered show dogs and mean the world to me. Incase you didn't know, Great Pyrenees are the most amazing breed in the universe. Try to argue with me and I will prove you wrong! Really. I also have a cat, Darshiva, who has been my little furry sister for 14 years, a blue variety White's Tree Frog named Opal who is quite possibly the world's worst cricket hunter, a couple very angry betas (Ralph & Kevlar) and a Crayfish named Robert. Yup - I'm the crazy lady down the street with all the pets! I drive Jeep, have a wonderful boyfriend, a cute little house and am quite happy with it all.

Hey Norma! Mosaic is on the corner of Monroe and Beaubien on the north east corner. I could have sworn Lana told me she has danced there but I don't know if it is a regular thing or not. www.mosaic-detroit.com/

Not completely on topic but I am soooooo sad about Hella's. Laikon and Hella's are my "family" restaurants. I've been going there since I was a baby. Just a shame.
Doesn't that newer place, Mosaic, have dancers sometimes? I've never been in. discussion post on Thu, April 3, 2008 - 7:01 AM
