Huh..? What?!..

Totally.

My car was turned into a sandwich on Saturday evening as I was returning from a simple trip to the store. The rest of life was looking up (except for not having any money) - now I'm out 1 reliable, well maintained, motor vehicle for the forseeable future. If it is totaled by the insurance company, the cash value according to the NADA is not going to be enough to buy an exact replica - in age, condition, or type - of what I had. It will certainly not be enough to replace the practical and sentimental value.
There were certainly things about my car that I hated, but I knew my car and it knew me and I could tolerate it's flaws because it never once left me hanging. It was being quite ornery recently, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed. My ultimate point is the same question(s) everyone always asks: Why me and why now? Why can't I just have a little stretch where everything goes smoothly at the same time? Why do we always have to ask the same rhetorical questions all the time? That's all.

Is this thing on?

I'm done with my adventure in moving and now I'm left with a dial-up connection. The patience to wait for it is something I will have to work on. If you're thinking of switching back from broadband (or anything else) to dial-up for any reason - don't because you'll wish you hadn't. On the other hand, if all you've ever known is dial-up, then be forwarned that if you switch to something faster, you will never again be satisfied again with dial-up. So I'm back and I expect I'll talking with you all again soon.

Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.

This is a test of the Emergency blogcast system. This is only a test. The narrowcasters in your area in association with state and local agencies have created this system to alert you in the event of an emergency. Had this been an actual emergency the tone you just heard would be followed by additional instructions and information. This transmitter activates for Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties in New York State.
