Towards the Eastern Gate
While we were laying out the new lodge, a gentle rain fell, followed by a double rainbow arching directly over the East, reminding us of the correct alignment. We began the construction of the willow frame a couple of days later (and here is still in process). The door is in the center of the photo, with the altar mound and beginnings of the fire pit beyond, and the cairn marking the East direction which was aligned with the sun rising and setting of the equinox. An arch will frame the door, reflecting the rainbow we saw -- as if it were opening a doorway on the horizon -- microcosm reflecting macrocosm.
