I walk the frustrating line between being technophile and luddite. I love knowing things, and enjoy the process of understanding for its own sake. I hate having nothing to do, and I have an even greater disdain for not being able to do something. I am much more proud of being a citizen of the USA after living in another country for the greater part of a year, despite the fact that I perceive we are turning into a sadly homogenized culture.

I like to think differently. To support this tendency, I avoid mainstream media, especially in spoon-fed formats (i.e., TV, radio, movies). I make exceptions, but there is a significant lag time. Sometimes, I think this thinking differently is a defense mechanism that I've developed in order to placate social anxiety. Just a thought.

People are people. Live and let live. We've only got so much time, and figuring out what to do with it and how to do it only makes it and us more interesting.
