The Face of Kindness

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."

-Amelia Earhart

"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."

-The Dalai Lama

"Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profundity.
Kindness in giving creates love."

-Lao Tse

A stranger returns a smile. Kind words of inspiration coming form someone you would least expect. A sudden thought illuminates the heart. The seeds of kindness are flowering everywhere enlightening the illusory shadow of ego’s seeming rigidity. We need only look and see the natural beauty of our world.

This morning in my car I was listening to a speech by Wayne Dyer on “The Power of Intention” where he delves into one of the faces of intention, kindness. According to him, the Source knows nothing that isn’t kind. It always responds to our presence with total kindness and love. A person whose connection to the Source is very strong (we are all connected the key is in the purity of that link) is literally unable to have a negative thought towards another.

I think that kindness is a wonderful objective of the soul’s journey. When faced with some of the utmost challenges, if I choose to reflect kindness to the “other” rather than bouncing the ball of blame or resentment, transformation and healing can occur. And what’s even more profound, that moment will spread its seeds into infinity. This gives me a great sense of responsibility and makes the ability to do internal work while having a positive effect on the external world, possible anywhere and anytime. It’s like dancing with the Divine every step of the journey…

Dragons
Thanks for the inspiration shared.

What depth of intent we need in order to preserve kindness in the face of the dragons;

the ones who raise their heads when true progress manifests.
