Well, I've arrived into San Francisco. Lovely, cold, windy, sometimes maddening San Francisco. I have been out of the loop now for most of a month or more. I've put off magazine articles for a while, I even stopped paying attention to the news. Then, I went on vacation and got away from internet for a week and a half. This year and this intense bout of acid reflux going on for months at a time when it flares up has made me think about my own mortality more than anything else. Its made me realize that I'm really going to die someday. When you are in the wild exuberance of youth - its rare to find anyone that has seriously thought about their own mortality. Of course, feeling like your chest is tightening and your heart hurts (the area where acid reflux hits you) does a few things to induce those thoughts...
