Linda is a very creative, extremely talented and wonderful friend. Over the years I have been priveleged to see the many gifts of beauty she has given her friends and the world in general, with her dancing, her teaching and all the wonderful things she has made. I'm glad she is here, sharing them with us all!

I am now teaching belly dance classes at the Richardson Huffines Recreation Center, and am signing up new students for July. I'm not in the summer catalog yet, but will be in the fall catalog. For questions etc., just send me a message! Here's where the classes are: www.cor.net/Parks/Facili...ecCenter.html

I've been on a creative binge lately. I've made several comfortable tops that are fun to wear. I'm hoping to sell some. I've also been making jewelry.....neclaces and earrings. By and by when I get enough made I may see about selling some of those too. Mostly I've just been having fun making and wearing them.

I'm excited about the wonderful progress all my dance students are making! They are such beautiful people and are becoming beautiful dancers! We will have a new girl join us this Thurs. for class. She had been in my class when I was teaching at Wild Bohemian but lost me when the store closed. She found me again and will be joining us this Thurs. I am really looking forward to seeing her again. I love performing and teaching this dance....it's so good for the soul!!!! Not to mention the body! ...

I first found out about Tribe through Saah-rah, one of my belly dance students, but I shied away from it for a while because I'm not terribly computer conversant. But then Phil stuck his toe in and got involved, and it looked like a lot of fun -- so I decided to jump in and swim and see what it was like! I'm looking forward to sharing the results of my creative pursuits and also seeing other people's creations, so I'll be posting pictures by and by of some of the things I've made. The picture...

about me
Through my life I've had many adventures and done many things, from spelunking to singing in a folk band, to being smuggled onto a Star Trek set by Leonard Nimoy, to performing (belly dancing) all over the U.S. and in Britain. I've dabbled in several of the arts -- painting, stained glass, writing, jewelry making, and costuming. I was an elementary school teacher for 29 years and a school librarian for 6 years, and am now retired. Currently my main activities are teaching belly dancing, making jewelry, and creating costuming and clothing.
Belly dancing has been a constant thread throughout my life, and a constant source of joy. I gave my first performance in 1963. I've taught the dance off and on since the early 1970s. I was the first belly dance teacher in El Paso, Texas. I have taught in Houston, Grand Prairie, and Dallas. I still teach, and still love it! My fella is Phil, who is also a member of Tribe. (people.tribe.net/10f3674f-...32690cb5). He dyes some very pretty veils and other things in silk.
