Miracles

   Wed, June 13, 2007 - 10:17 PM
I wanted to share this story with you all. Sunday afternoon I got a very sad phone call from my dad letting me know that my 18 yr. old cousin Bobby was in a very bad car wreck. At the time they didn't have many details. That night I got a phone call saying that he had a fever of 108 and that he had major swelling around his brain and a blood clot in the brain. Monday morning I got a phone call saying that there was no activity in his brain and that I needed to come to WV to help prepare his funeral. I came home (WV) Monday to be with my family. They had Bobby on life support to save his organs because he was going to be an organ donor. I guess that there are tests and a time period you have to wait before you harvest them. Tuesday rolls around and they took him off of life support to go harvest the organs and right before they were getting ready to take them, someone in the OR noticed his eyes moving. They called us and Aunt Melanie and Uncle Bob flew down there to be with him. SInce Tuesday morning, Bobby has coughed, tried to scratch his face, he's squeezed a hand. Today they took him off of sedation for a few minutes and asked him to hold up two fingers. He held up his whole hand. The dr.'s have said that they haven't seen or heard anything like this before. They have called it a miracle. Bobby has a twin sister Maggie, a 15 yr. old brother Mack and a 12 yr. old brother John. I have been here with them since Monday and I can't even begin to tell you how strong these kids are. There are about 20-25 kids here a day that are friends with Maggie and Bobby. I has been a hell of a few days emotionally but you know what? This is the first time in my life that I actually belive in miracles. If you guys don't, please look at the the following web site and read the story. I'm so exhausted right now that I'm sure I'm missing stuff. Go to www.wsaz.com and read all about it. I'm writing now to let everyone know that miracles do happen and until this week I was not at all a believer. I hope all of you read this and call your family and friends and let them know how much you love them.
