From the time I was small I knew I had to live in the mountains or by the sea. The mountains is where I ended up. I bought some land in the Santa Cruz mountains, had a road cut to a useable area, build a small cabin, installed solar power and solar hot water, planted a garden from seeds, built a rain collection system, a composting toilet, played with biogas, hydrogen fuel cells, helped build strawbale homes for habitat for humanities and friends, installed a solar heated solar powered filtered above ground swimming pool, installed a solar heated thermosyphon system for my hot tub for two. I love solitude and love my close friends immensely. I am a photographer, sea kayaker who loves adventures and pushing ones limits. My favorite kayak trips are up to Alaska and BC but my normal stomping grounds are the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Areas.
I love waking up every morning, walking outside and seeing my furry friends, the chipmunks dancing on the firewood pile, the cotton tail rabbits munching on breakfast, the quail walking about, the deer (in my garden, they think it's home, it is) and the flying birds of pray, the occasional mountain lion and bobcat not to mention the lizards and snakes the humming birds the frogs and the dragons flies. I love sitting next to a campfire with a good friend, a glass of wine and a meal from the garden along with something off the bbq. Watching the fire dance and watching the fog roll in makes my heart sing. This is part of who I am.
The friends I chose in life are good spirited, smiling happy people who I share some of the things that make my heart and soul sing and dance.
