This was a pic my dad took in Victoria and just look how cheesy I am...
about me
I was born in 'the valley' in southern California but I swear I don't talk like that and I moved around too much to call any one place my 'hometown'. I lived in Colorado for a time and then back to California where I still live with my husband of 11 years. I did live in Phoenix for five years but I am really trying to forget that time. The only good thing to come out of that city is my Angry Chef of a hubby.
I enjoy painting and ever since buying a house six years ago I have taken that hobby to the walls. Saturated color is the only way to go so now I've got a Moroccan thing going on with lots of dark red and gold. I like to garden and write and all the other artsy things that go with people like me and I love spending time with my friends at our 'commune'. I have two cats, Micah and Asher; who keep things interesting and fun and are way better entertainment than TV could ever be.
I collect nude photography, mostly of women. I also collect rocks and bits of interesting wood that I find, and hands. No, that isn't a grusome habit of randomly chopping off hands and preserving them in jars. I have a hand fetish so I buy any interesting hand sculptures/candle holders/etc. that I find. I'm up to 10. They are harder to find than you may think. I love to read and books with a supernatural flavor like the Laurell Hamilton/Kelly Armstrong/Kim Harrison/Laura Anne Gilman books (which a friend calls vampire porn).
I am quite open minded and I can't remember the last time I was offended by anything. I like discussing life and everything that makes it interesting. But to quote a friend "I do not tolerate willful ignorance or intentional cruelty."
Feel free to wander around.

Re: White Tats

I'm pretty fair as well and my artist has only used white to highlight colored areas, never as a color in and of itself since I suspect it wouldn't show up against my skin.

Thanks. I used the one I found on-line last night and unfortunately it didn't thicken so I have 24 half pints of a-little-thinner-than-applesauce-pear-compote. It tastes delicious, I used nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla in it so it'll be great over...

Got this from my mom...
One day I had a date for brunch with friends. Mae, a little old 'blue hair' about 80 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch. When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Mae who said, 'Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate.
I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast.
'Along with heated apple pie,' Mae added, completely unabashed.
We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if pe...

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Life is an opportunity; benefit from it.
Life is a beauty; admire it.
Life is a dream; realize it.
Life is a challenge; meet it.
Life is a duty; complete it.
Life is a game; play it.
Life is a promise; fulfill it.
Life is sorrow; overcome it.
Life is a song; sing it.
Life is a struggle; accept it.
Life is a tragedy; confront it.
Life is an adventure; dare it.
Life is luck; make it.
Life is life; fight for it.

Bula!!!! Here I sit in my own library trying to mentally sort through my 15 day Fiji adventure so I can highlight it for you. I’ve included some links for those of you who want to learn more about some of the things I mention and of course I’ll be posting pics too.
The flight there was 10 ½ hours from LAX on the largest plane I’ve ever been on, a 747-400, which is 63 feet high (including the second floor) and has a wingspan of 211 feet. There was a neat GPS channel that I could watch in...

Melissa, my Melissa....oh I adore her sooo. Melissa is my rock, she's my inspiration of strength. Such and incredible person, i'm blessed to be part of her life. I'm completely enjoying watching her grow in her journey of tribal dance. She's just so grounded and delightful to be around, when you're around her...it feels like home. She has and is teaching me the world of boundries and for that i'm truely thankful. I seem to dream of her often...funny! :-Þ Thank you for being in my life you gorgeous creature you. XoXo XoXo Zia

Melissa is one of the most delightful women I know - down to earth, low maintenance, but still deeply gratified at the girly things in life. She has a level of self-confidence and self-acceptance that I think many women never achieve, and she encourages her friends to love themselves as well. She is amazingly creative and inspires me to be the same. Her grip on reality is stabalizing in a sea of dunderheads, and she applies her logical outlook with the infamous (and metaphorical) Velvet-covered Two by Four.
