I was tagged my FamilyGirl, whom I've never met before but feel like she is a close friend.

1. Even though I have Master's from Harvard and a Phd. from UC Berkeley, it still took me an hour to figure out how to post a blog on tribe.

2. I was born in Iran and Farsi is my first language. I lived there during the 78'-80' revolution. My uncle was an advisor to the shah so when the revolution happened, he was on a list to be executed. He had to go into hiding and revolutionary thugs with machine guns would raid our house on a weekly basis. My dad was on his way to the American embassy the day they took American hostages. Our family finally managed to escape and my uncle safely lives in Paris. I haven't been back since 1980 and I miss my grandmother very much.

3. I had heart surgery about 10 years ago to fix a congenital hole in my heart the size of a quarter. The hole has never re-opened and my heart is as good as new.

4. I've played classical flute since the 4th grade. I was first seat flutist in the all state orchestra for many years. I was going to make a career out of music but when I realized there were other flutists better than me, I couldn't handle the competition.

5. I have a tremendous fear of heights but love to climb high places and jump off high places into water. I intend to do Mt. Kilmanjoro within the next two years and hopefully skydive. But I usually have to take 2 valium and drink a bloody mary before I board a plane.

6. I saw the Dead in 1988 and didn't get "it". Then I saw Phish in 1990 and got "it" and was able to connect with the Dead. I've probably seen more Phish shows and spent more money seeing their shows than most people I know.

7. I'm delusionally obsessed with Kiefer Sutherland and plan to stalk him ;-).

8. I'm going to Southeast Asia for the month of August on my own. Anyone wanna join me?
