I met Apple at the Faerie Masquerade Balls and she is one of the sweetest, most welcoming people I have ever encountered. It was a pleasure to meet her and I certainly hope it is not the last time we meet. She is also a talented craftsperson who makes very imaginitive books.

Ugly Girl with Flowers at Academe Obscure
The colors are magic: a field of black lit with topaz against which a human figure and sprays of flowers glow in uncompromising light.

The girl is a study in human ordinariness.

Summer Rollercoaster!
This summer has been utterly crazy with vending everywhere, making more product and keeping up with orders and shows. I've expanded my online presence with an ArtFire store in addition to my Etsy shop and regular website (www.gildedquill.artfire.com). I've been working on keeping my blog (www.gildedquill.blogspot.com/) really up-to-date, getting my newsletter out and basically running insane!

Upcoming Festivals and the like...
Dang. Life has been just a little crazy since I've been able to pour all my energy into the Gilded Quill. I've spent time making my blog and connecting it to facebook, working with a mad number of orders and projects and securing two more events (Miscon in Missoula and Crypticon Seattle). www.gildedquill.blogspot.com/

Bizarre Bazaar
So, Radcon just wrapped up last week and went pretty good. After the Balls I had a real honest to gods wand rack made for my wands and it looks really great, holding up to 87 wands. With the exception of waking up with my gum inextricably stuck in my hair Saturday morning, the rest of the weekend was actually pretty good. Sales were good and the crowd had a pretty decent vibe.
