My Blog

sulfur dioxide and fun in the sun!!

I happen to be staying on Kilauea while it is erupting, consequently, it is very hazy, especially in the twilight hours. It is so beautiful here on the Big Island, I have been to water falls and hiked through lava tubes. Volacanoes Rock!! I am having a wonderful time. Tommorrow it is back to Oahu and the condo on waikiki beach. Not to worry folks i'll be back to rowing with the other slaves next Thursday:) For those in the tribeaholic recovery program who see blogging on tribe while in Hawaii as a serious breach of the 12 step program: Bite me bitches:)

Home

Well i'm made it home safe and sound in body at least. I'm little bit bruised in the heart though. I think i left it behind in Cairo. I felt so sad leaving and then reentering the states. It feels a lot like Post Pennsic depression. Fortunately my boys have kept me from falling too far into the doldrums. I'm going back to Cairo december 2007. I will be staying for two weeks and touring the nile. I will get to visit Luxor and Aswan. I put up some pics on my tribe for anyone that wants a looksie:)

Cairo II

What a long day i have had. I spent half the day in my room recovering from an extremely virulent bout of king tut's revenge. I attended to workshops with some fabulous and talented teachers. and I went on the cheesiest nile dinner cruise. The belly dancer on the cruise made her entrance in a huge flower carried by four men in white tuxedos, very funny. tommorrow i'm getting fitted for costumes and figuring out how i'm going to get all this shit back to the States. I appreciate all you well wishes so much and i'm getting lots of souvenirs to bring you all when i see you next.

Greetings from Egypt

Hello everyone. I am currently in a lovely hotel in downtown cairo in the internet cafe. I am paying an outrageous amount for the privelege of writing this blog so I will keep it short and sweet. Cairo is beautiful and horrible all together. It is sweet and rancid with an air of arabian mystery that makes everything stick together like the sweetest backlava. I am having the time of my life. I have been to wonderful shows featuring sufi dancing aka whirling dervishes. I have spent outrageous amounts of money on costumes, cd's, dvd's and chatchka. i bought the two most beautiful chandeliers for my home and will be visiting the rug district tommorrow to find more beautiful things. the people are wonderful and friendly and also with their hand out for bakksheesh or tips and if you want to get anything you have to bargain with your claws out. It is perfect!! I love you all i hope you are well. I may write again later. *mwah*
