My Spatial Temporal Existence

Sitting at my back door, lit cigarello in hand and experiencing the light rainfall just at the edge of my shelter, in the afternoon light.

Seeing a snail, full-grown, slowly making it's way along a flower pot's edge, it's eye stalks (so simple, seeing naught but light and dark, yet so wondrous). Touching it's feelers, gently, and seeing a gentle brush of a fingertip creating a slow motion panic, not of danger imminent but of potential reacting upon untold ages of evolution.

The creation... read more

An anecdote excerpted from "A Way to Victory: The Annotated Book of Five Rings", by Miyamoto Mushashi, with commentary by Hidy Ochiai

A brutish man once decided to destroy a bicycle by smashing it on the ground. After throwing the bicycle against the ground several times, it was still functional.

Another man came by. He was a master of martial arts and asked what the man was doing.

The brutish man replied, "I want to destroy this bicycle and get a new one. So I'm smashing it against ... read more

If you're not into reading the incredibly long auto-biographical portion of this all of the way through, skim through the main body enough to get the gist (it's an old story, I'm sure), and then read the final portion to find out what the heck ducks have to do with it all. I think it's got something to do with making peace with the divine male within, but if it was that simple I imagine that I could just stop.....

So I've had problems with being a male human ... read more

A new home.

After 8 months of sleeping on friend's floors, or living at the Camby hostel (yeah, like a guy who likes beer a bit too much needs a bar for a living room). Or sleeping on a couch at work (thank god I've been doing renovation at a home decor store, at least the couches rock).

And that after 18 months of living in a low rent downtown building on the Granville bar strip, with periods of having a crack dealer (Satanic Bitch!) across the hall, or seeing the coroner visiting the... read more

I've been thinking about where to start for my first online journal/blog entry for a long time.

I posted this to THX, and realized that it says a lot of what I need it to, I'll be posting it in my blog as well as to several tribes, I don't have time to waste writing different posts for every tribe. I need every bit of help that I can get right now, and anything that might get people checking into the issue is good as well:

I don't always get along with the extended community, at le... read more

about me
Why would I want to complicate your illusions about me by throwing mine into the picture? What the hell, I'll write a bit anyway.

I'm a megalomaniac who believes that anything is possible, and that I just might be able to do a little bit to shift the development of the future history. Even if no one remembers my name, I want my actions (the ones that come from my heart and not my ego) to live forever. And they will. Just like everyone elses.

We're all legends in the Dream Time. It's just that most of us have forgotten.

We walk into our lives, and walk back out in an eyeblink. Just for the brief instant in between, we're striding through the center of the Great Weaving. Grab a few strands, and pull. That's what we're here for.

It's a cliche, but every moment of my life I've found it to be more true: "Life is not a dress rehearsal".
