portland has been lush these last 2 weeks. there is a lotta love here fo sho. seattle seems determined not to let me come back. housing options up there have formed and dissolved a few times over. there is a nip anxiety to go back, the house I will be staying at in a coupla weeks is closer to that hood than I care to admit. friends have called me silly n such, but dunno. feel like I gots unfinished bidness up there, so I can leave that town on my own terms. bye portland, thanks f... read more

so! next week, I'm gonna drive up from LA back to PNW, was looking for suggestions of places to stop, particularly in norcal. in the eternal debate of beer versus nature, I am leaning to making this a brewery tour, or at least stopping at a few breweries between hikes n such.

will be hugging the coast till SF, with a likely stop in big sur. any tips on camping/hikes in that area would be very appreciated, or anywhere else along the coastal route.

I'd be rocking out to jamie lidell tonight at berbati's. one of the more interesting techno producers around who also produced two of the best soul albums of recent decades. unfortunately, I will also just miss his LA and SF shows, so counting on friends to allow me to get my soulgroove on vicariously.

I typically go thru way too much music to care to post about any particular album, but in case any yall were wondering, jamie lidell's new album is the best damn soul album since, well, since his last album 3 years ago. doubly more impressive for him being a scrawny, pale-ass british techno producer.
while I wouldn't say this track is the best one from the new album, the video does get props for featuring him making out with a unicorn.
