We're seeking models for a photo shoot for the Adira Dance & Costume web site on Saturday, January 10 from 1pm to 4pm. In exchange for modeling, participants receive a DVD of their shots. Refreshments will be available during the shoot.

On behalf of the Willow Glen Business Association, I'm in charge of booking dance performances for "Dancin' on the Avenue" in San Jose, CA. Scheduled for the evening of Saturday, June 20, this long-running street festival draws over 35,000 people to the downtown Willow Glen District of San Jose.
We are seeking a diverse number of dance performances, from youngsters to adults. All dance genres are sought, including but not limited to ballet, ballroom, belly dance, Bollywood, flamenco, hip hop, jazz, modern, tap, and ethnic dances. Details: - Each performance is for 5-12 minutes depending on number of dancers - Only one performance per school/troupe - Performances are on a 20’ x 20’ stage - Notice of acceptance will be sent by 5/15 confirming your performance and time slot - A table will be available for promotional information of your school and troupe - Performances will be listed on the festival website and on festival signage Completed applications are due by May 8, 2009. Saturday, June 13, 2009 HaflAdira Details Time: 2:00pm to 4:30pm Location: Adira Dance and Costume Parking Lot In the Heart of San Jose’s Willow Glen District 1202 Lincoln Avenue San Jose, CA 95125 Requests for performance slots are now being accepted from dancers of all styles and experience levels. Solos/Duets will be allotted a 7-minute performance, and Trios/Troupes will be allotted at 12-minute performance. All performances will be to pre-recorded music. If you are interested, email Stephani at charmedonesam@aol.com or Adira at adira@adiradance.com. requesting a slot. We are expecting a larger crowd this month. Not only is HalfAdira listed on Socialwave.com, but it is also listed on SanJose.com and the Mercury News web site. The Willow Glen Resident Newspaper spotlighted the event. Saturday is also Willow Glen's annual Sidewalk Sale, so Willow Glen stores will have racks out on the sidewalk with great bargains. Adira Dance and Costume will be open for business in its new San Jose location on Tuesday, September 2. It is in the heart of the Willow Glen District of San Jose, halfway between Minnesota and Willow. Look for the "Adira Dance and Costume" sign over the entry way. The new location also affords space for events such as haflas, and there is a parking lot right in front of the store.
