We are Liz and Vanessa, a newly formed duo interested in ATS and Egyptian-style belly dance! We met 2 years ago at our local YMCA for our first taste of belly dance, and we've been hooked ever since! We choreographed our first routine with veils when we were pregnant with our second and third child (respectively) - from there, we knew that we had to stick together to expand our knowledge of the dance, and grow to become the best dancers we could be!

The Happenings...
Wow! What a blast Rakkasah was this year. I still can not believe we actually got a spot. After 3 hours of straight calling!!!! Whew! We performed Friday night at 10:30pm (right before Mia Naja's troupe) Whom by the way, rak'd it out!

We were overwhelmed (in a good way) by the response to our performance and just loved every moment. Its always SO cool to have so many performers under one roof. And to learn, and yes, buy goodies too! Wonderful! Wished we could have done the entire week! B... read more

We...are...in!!! Yes, after hours (yes, hourS) of dialing, we finally got to talk to a live human being, who actually said, "Oh yeah, honey, you're going to Rakkasah this year!!!!" WOOT! Are we still fah-reaking out? You betcha! We're super excited about the chance to perform away from home, to get that opportunity to expand our knowledge of the dance by taking classes with some of the best in the field! Oh, and of course...can't exclude the shopping experience, eithe... read more 
Wow, our first time going! Will most certainly go back next year! Wished we were not restricted by budget! Urgh all the lasses amd all the beauuuuuuutiful things to buy!

Anyhow, Rhea and Artemis were just wonderful and running into other dancers was a lot of fun too. Learned so much, and felt those learning pains too afterwards! :)
