Say What?

March 14, 2007
We need more heather's in the world.
There's a shortage of inspiration in the world.
As soon as I get my cloning techniques down I'll let you know.

Heather....... how to describe this beauty? Heather is a Godess come down to earth ...walking among us in various forms.......... always mercurial.. always stunningly beautiful and enigmatic..... sometimes gracefull...sometimes strong and fierce..sometimes maternal and loving.............

Her words are music.........her images are poetry....... and I love learning from her just by being near her............... her surprises are cherished................ like chancing upon an other worldly creature stopping to drink in moonbeams in a verdant glade.....Kali's daughter.. she is Twilight.....

heather is that rare, exquisite insect that you find on your window one morning, quivering in the dawn, making you gasp with awe and wonder.
i found her a few years ago at faire - i crushed out immediately, then settled into a place of deep admiration and appreciation for our kindred spiritness.
heather inspires me.
she is unbelievably beautiful, exploding with raw talent and mystical humanness.
she defines friendship, or rather she defies the boundaries of its usual definitiion: she has held me up when life has served up grief, so strong. she flew across the country to save me from maine and drove all night to make sure we didn't have to stay in texas.
and she calls me back every time.
i am utterly grateful for her loving presence in my life.

Heather is quite possibly one of the most amazing people I know... either that or she's quite an expert at faking it ...
...most likely both answers are correct.

She gives not only inspiration and wonderous recipies, but also compassion and support. I _know_ I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't crossed her path. She has left indelible and irrevocable creases in my brain... and I am far better because of it.

And did I mention she's a goddess? Yeah, that too.

Today's.

I sucked the moon
I spoke too soon
And how much did it cost?
I was dropped from moonbeams
And sailed on shooting stars

Maybe you'll
Be president
But know right from wrong
Or in the flood
You'll build an Ark
And sail us to the moon
Sail us to the moon
Sail to the moon

more little somethings

ecco e mio cuore.
ecco e il sol.
ecco e la Notte.
ecco e il Ciel.

Fortuna viene.
Fortuna va.
nel Sogno, siamo
unico.
in realita,
sei un spirito.

ti desidero.
ti portarmi.

in questa vita,
tutto e bianco.
i fiori aprono.

a questo momento,
miei occhi sono fiori.

ora, mio cuore e
una rosa.

Exhumations

sorry for the delay, all. i've been sans internet for a few days, working out on the West Side...

the week has been Exciting to say the least. Saturday i bartended at a party downtown, which was perhaps The most fun i've had out in a long time. that night my wallet got stolen out of my bag, even though it was safely tucked away in my friend's back room. then my car wouldn't start when i tried going home in the morning (the party lasted well past dawn, and while we closed the bars at ... read more

i've become a tiger trapped in the tight cage of my skin, pacing its brief hallway with the hungers of something wild and broken. my body feels a hundred miles thick, impenetrable, and i'm sitting at the bottom, cupping one last smolder of daylight against my throat. a grub has taken over the cavity of my heart---smoke white, scar-dense. it turns over and again, its fat body nudging those bruises that will not heal. what can i dig it out with? a fingernail? a bottle of air? the broken ... read more

reposted from the crack which is my subscription to a Word a Day.
Anu was using it as a segue into that week's theme (words and phrases borrowed from the art and practice of Archery). but it struck a multitude of chords in me. Spring becomes---and i believe it's not just me---a time of incredible distraction, via that glorious pursuit of Sweet Everything now that the sun is back. whatever the choice of recreational activity, my own focus undergoes a sudden diffraction. responsibility (... read more
