about me
What I do: I'm a nurse.

What I think:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

- Marianne Williamson

My Blog

I'll be having a surgery on my left foot on Wed. I'll be off work for 6-8 weeks, and non weight bearing on crutches.

My son is at home, and will do some cooking (microwaving) the first few days. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. Then, when I go back to work, it will be on a different unit where I'll only be working 8 hour shifts instead of 12. That will be nice.

I plan to use this time to read and write mostly. I will do some sewing too, and practice my fiddle.

I am on a research "sabatical" this year, for the purpose of learning how to have a good relationship. In looking for that golden "pot of gold", I was reminded of these "four agreements" - Don miguel ruiz's code for life

agreement 1
Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

agreement 2
Don’t take anything persona... read more

Hug me, touch me
Squeeze and caress
Bite me, lick me
Make a wet mess
Close to your organ
Epidermis I mean
As essential as heart
An instrument so keen
Hear my touch
Speak to you
Gently breath
On your ear
Taste my lips
Feel my tears
Warm my feet
Know I'm here
Embrace me
Tightly wrapped
In a blanket of skin
This is the love
That we are all in. Eve (my poetry name)

Had a job interview today, on the rehab unit. I'll know in a couple weeks if I got it. It will be an awesome change if I get it, helping people regain their optimal functioning, after a set back. Besides that, I'll get off the 12 hour shifts, and into a more "normal" work schedule. My feet are killing me. An old dear girlfriend came over. She was in town due to a death in the family, (from San Antonio Texas). Vikki is a massage therapist, an excellent vegetariian cook. I made salmon for ... read more

If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy.
If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem.
But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve (or save) the world and a desire to enjoy (or savor) the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.
