What you say about still considering yourself a student very much reminds me of what a friend of mine said after she earned her black belt in kemscrima do. She said something like "now my learning has truly just begun". :-)

Wouldn't the right hand up block the audience's view on your ribcage when you're standing in performance angle?

As far as I understand it with RCR either only the left hand is up (and the right one close to the hip), then the left hand only floreos, or both arms are up at shoulder level, and then both floreo.
Am I correct?

That would bei BSBD's Slow Arabic. It has those arms, and it moves to the side, but the feet go "flat-ball-ball-ball", and it doesn't end in this pretty turn. The Arabic Grandmother, as I understand it, is a partner combo based on the Slow Arabic ...
