(the following letter was sent to me by Chris Dyer's brother, Peru Dyer)

Greetings ladies and gentlemen,

I was recently reported by my brother over the phone (as I am in Ottawa at the moment) that during his bbq jam, his laptop, hardrive, monitor and scanner where stolen from his room...Im sure some of you may know this by now. This totally broke my heart, specially when he started to cry, so I am trying to get a little fundraiser for him up before he leaves on this expensive trip so he can get another laptop which he desperately needs. I figure he's such a loved character in the scene and does so much for so many selflessly, so Im hoping people will respond. It wont get all that work data back but it will lift a little weight off his shoulders.

I will be going to his place tomorrow evening and possibly staying overnight before he leaves on Tuesday. You can either respond to this email to say how much you can contribute (even if its 5 dollars he will appreciate it), I will be in Montreal and will happily meet up with you..I work on St. Laurent and live on Duluth so we can arrange something. Theres no point or resources on my side to make a whole even for this of course so feel free to contact me also at this number - 514.526.5826

Oh, and he does not know about this so dont go calling him telling him how much you'll contribute, I'll do the honorable mentions myself :)
(And in any chance of these electronics where to be returned, I would also return the donations..)
