Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite took this high-resolution color image of the Burning Man community September 3, 2005. Formed as a result of the ORBIMAGE acquisition of Space Imaging, which was completed in January 2006, GeoEye is the largest commercial remote sensing company in the world. The newly combined company with almost 300 employees is headquartered in Dulles, VA. IKONOS produces 1-meter panchromatic and 4-meter multispectral imagery, that can be combined in a variety of ways to accommodate a wide range of high resolution imagery applications.
