I have lived in Kansas for the last 25 years. Prior to that I did a stint in Texas for about 5 years. Yes, it is truly a HOLE other country, sorry, no offense intended. My experience there was abyssmal. I love people whenever I am not in traffic or Walmart. I hate that we have become a society made up primarily of sheople. I have worked at a nuclear power plant here since I arrived in Kansas. I hate the politics of working in the corporate world and want to finally break free of it, hence, the beauty school. I know that it is a step down in monetary lifestyle, but it is worth it to finally do something I have always wanted to do. I write poetry when I am not busy with other stuff. I have a slowly building collection. Maybe one day I will look to publish them. For now, I am happy to just have them as a reflection of who I am and my life travels. I also want to write a book about my life. It has been a long weary journey. My family has disowned me on several occasions and the last time was final for me. There is only so much pain on person can endure from those who are supposed to love them unconditionally, so I have surrendered to the idea that we will never find common ground, after all, I am 45. It is time to simply let go of those things that only bring pain.
