This ARTumnal Gathering is a not-to-be-missed extravaganza in the full spirit of this amazing community! This will be a positively joyful party, a celebration of the senses in support of wonderful community-building public art projects around the country and the world. This year BRAF supported projects in (among other places) South Africa; Amsterdam; India, Indonesia, and Malawi; Northampton, Massachusetts; Homer, Alaska; and Howard, Colorado. organ & accordian, Bad Unkl Sista - costumes & Butoh, Samantha - Serpentine Moves belly dance, DJ Adnan - world house beats, Dwora & Shredder of Vau de Vire Society - contortion and hoop, and more!!!

The Black Rock Arts Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, helps bring community-building art and the spirit of Burning Man to people and places beyond Black Rock City. In the past two years, we have supported more than twenty-five inspiring projects around the country and the world.

This Saturday, November 3rd Missing Piece designers go head-to-head with 7 contenders to create fast fashion live for the title of San Francisco Style Battle Champion! Come out to 111 Minna this Saturday and show your support.

What is a style battle? Straight outta NYC, inspired by MC battling, Victor & Rolf/Martin-Margiela-style fashion, and mash-up DJ-ing, Style Battling is competitive fashion, created live on stage, in a matter of minutes, using anything from a pair of jeans to an umbrella to a balenciaga bag. Competitors cut, tear, burn, spray-paint, and otherwise destroy/rebuild clothing, live on models or on people pulled from the audience. This is The 8-Mile of Style. WWD meets WWF.

Vogue Magazine calls the trend "Punk meets Warhol" and Michael Musto calls Style Battling "the newest variation on krumping."
