H E L P ! I need a web designer
Hi guys. I'm trying to invigorate my hat business. Recent good sales have urged me to get a home site up and running. It won't be tough, but I know zero about website design. And, I can't pay a great deal right now (but it isn't out of the question.) I can trade product or costume or reasonable something ...
Heavy on the photos; very much like a gallery; some text; Victorian is appearance; no order placement just yet. It seems to me to be a one-day project - certainly nothing complicated. And, once its ready, I want to be able to upload new photos without pestering anyone. Simple.
Thanks
What happened?
Okay … got to rant …Is anyone else sick and tired of having to listen to someone’s music – even though they are wearing headphones? The music is so loud I can tell what it is (usually by the higher pitches.) Is this yet another generation going deaf – they should be! I moved half way down the BART car yesterday and I could still hear it.
What the hell is going on with our youth? Oh sure, every generation of so-called grown-ups has had this complaint about the generation behind them, but geez … I know I was never like this (my Mother would never have allowed such behavior.) I’m not talking about being dressed suggestively, or laughing too loud with their friends … My hit list includes the above mentioned headphones/music; cell phones that are toys and boom boxes, putting their feet up on seats, blocking seats so others can’t sit (even during rush hour) and out-n-out rudeness. What the hell happened? It wasn’t feminism. It wasn’t the Sexual Revolution. What was it?
The Amazing St. Stephens
Boy, where do I start? Being an APQ has its hazzards, one of them being a lack of energy. Didn't happen at SLO Fair! Couldn't happen at SLO Fair! I was surrounded by the most amazing, energetic, creative, dynamic, brilliant, lovely, wonderful people. The "A" Team!Favorate moments: The Indoor/Outdoor, Intimate/Broad, Quiet/Loud Marriage Game gig. For those who missed: this was where the APQ, Ladies and Audience took 1/3 of the big pavillion and changed the APQ's clothes. Meanwhile, the other 2/3 of the pavillion (and exterior) was taken up by the Privy Council. The ladies discussed what makes a gentleman and how the Duc d'Alencon fit into that def. The men argued loudly about all the things wrong with d'Alencon and all the other suitors of the Queen. A spy ran back and forth (thank you Pam Duncan) bringing details of what the men were saying to the Queen. Amazing stuff. We had them 4 deep and rivoted for 40 minutes. One-on-one work in conjunction with Big Theater - all at the same time in the same space. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Another amazing moment was when the Privy Council was confronting the Queen about the lack of marriage choices: again, we blocked the road and created HUGE Theater.
We were sharing the road with a stage immedately opposite - and at the end of both days, one of the acts came over to compliment us on both good theater AND being considerate of his performance. He said he'd never worked with a group who was both dynamic and polite. He said he'd be happy to pay opposite us anytime.
There was so much more, but I'm still on a high from the whole experience. This is definitely the most terrific group of actors in the Fair circuit! I'm actually excited about next year! (Usually, I'm just thinking about cleaning up after the last one.) E N E R G Y !! Man, there was more than I've ever experienced before.
Okay, this is now a bit long for a Tribe Blog ... but I just can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
My 3 things
Rules: Post 3 things you've done that you believe nobody else on your F-list has done.Indulge in remorse if someone calls you out on a listed item.
1) Had one of the Giant's players drop every stitch of clothing he was wearing right in front of me while I was trying to interview him in the PacBell Park locker room. Okay, I was impressed!
2) Chatted over coffee with Olivia Newton John. Brief but lovely.
3) Wandered around the graveyard that Benjamin Franklin is buried in, on July 4th, 1976, wearing an 18th century dress and cap - was crouched down behind a grave marker reading the name, and when I popped up, I damn near scared a woman to death who hadn't seen me up until that moment.
Extra Credit #4) Got within 100ft of His Coolness, the Dalai Lama, while doing prostrations on the floor of the Graham Auditorium (don't ask what's down there ... let's just say I didn't do the FULL spectrum of kneeling, etc.)
Oh no ... not comfy shoes ...
Why yes, and there are more in the early Victorian (aka Dickensian) style at Sacramento City Dry Goods. Men's AND women's shoes and boots. This website / store is run by Joanne Peterson of Laughing Moon Fame. She knows her stuff. Check it out. You can go to the store in Sacarmento or order on line. She's great to work with so if something doesn't fit, many options can be arranged I'm sure.
